Back 'kidnapped' claim or face legal action, Mugilan told

Sacked deputy MIC Youth chief V Mugilan must back his claim that a Gerakan Anti-Samy (GAS) leader had been kidnapped, or he will face legal action by MIC Youth, warned its chief T Mohan (left).
In a statement today, Mohan said Mugilan must also produce evidence of his allegations that “gangster tactics” and RM5 million had been used to dissuade GAS supporters from attending yesterday's rally at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

“It is easy to issue statements, but where are the facts to back them up?” asked Mohan.
“MIC Youth wants Mugilan to back up his allegations, failing which legal action would be initiated against him,” he added. At the rally to call for MIC president S Samy Vellu to step down, only about 3,500 turned up, between a quarter to one-fifth of the number Mugilan had forecast several days before the much-anticipated event.

'Stop your drama'

On Mugilan calling the GAS rally a success for conveying the message that Samy was no longer wanted as MIC chief, Mohan said the former should just stop his “drama” and desist from calling on MIC president S Samy Vellu to step down.“He must accept the fact that he cannot gather the crowd he anticipated and (he must) keep to his word (to) endorse Samy Vellu as president for life if the turnout was poor,” he said.
Mohan also insisted that Mugilan (left) keep to his vow in conceding that Samy Vellu should remain in his seat if the rally could not achieve the numbers desired.
“Everyone knows that the turnout was poor. If he is a man of principle, he should forget about Gerakan Anti-Samy Vellu,” said Mohan further.“He should admit that they had failed to garner the crowd and disband the movement rather than continue with his efforts as it would not bring any benefit to the Indian community.
“He should allow the MIC president to execute his transition plan in peace as the poor turnout has demonstrated that (MIC) members are not interested,” Mohan added.
Addressing a claim posted on GAS' Facebook page that Umno was behind the anti-Samy movement, Mohan urged the police to investigate given both Mugilan and Umno had denied the party's role in efforts to topple Samy.
