KUALA LUMPUR, 28 APRIL, 2011: Expelled MIC Youth Deputy Chief V. Mugilan is ready to make a comeback to the party and probably contest the wing's top post in the future.Mugilan, who was sacked after starting the Gerakan Anti-Samy Vellu (GAS) campaign last year, however said his immediate plan was to submit an appeal and also to meet MIC Youth Chief T. Mohan."I intend to go for the youth leader's post in the next party election...but it is still very early to talk about it," he told a press conference called to announce the intention of nine expelled MIC members to be reinstated.

They are former MIC Central Working Committee (CWC) members Kumar Aamaan, K.P Samy, G. Malarvili Gunaseelan, E. Loganathan, M. Nyanasegaran, R. Nanda Kumar, S. Raj Kumar and N. Ganesan.
He said the nine of them had a meeting with MIC Disciplinary Committee Chairman, Tan Sri K.S Nijar earlier today to express their desire to be reinstated and would submit their letters to the party secretary-general.Last week, MIC President Datuk G. Palanivel announced that all MIC members who had quit or were sacked from the party would be accepted and their posts retained, but with conditions.

Mugilan said for the time being, he wanted to help the leadership to strengthen and unite the party, adding that they would meet Mohan tomorrow, as well as prepare a blue print to assist Indian youths."Although MIC Youth Chief (Mohan) is against our comeback, our objective is to help the party, the Indian community and for the benefit of Barisan Nasional (BN). I and Kumar Aamaan will meet Mohan tomorrow," he said.
Meanwhile, Samy said they would help the party leadership by trying to coax former members who have joined the outlawed Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf), to make a comeback as well.

"They should join MIC to unite the party and Indians in order to fight for the benefit of the community," he said.During Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu's 31 years as president, many leaders who were at odds with him were sacked, with some of them setting up new parties such as the Indian Progressive Front and Malaysian Indian United Party.
