The Sultan of Perak, Raja Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah, who passed away today at the age of 86, was a man of many talents.
In his younger days, he was a lawyer, judge and sportsman. He also served as a judge and lord president of the Federal Court.
The sultan was also sometime president of the Malaysian Hockey Federation and the Asian Hockey Federation. He also served as executive board member of the International Hockey Federation.
The reactions to his death spoke of the high regard and esteem he was held in.
