FMT LETTER: From Muhammad Abdullah, via e-mail
The real problem is with the Tamil people is that they fail to to live according to their ancient Tamilian cultural heritage and forgot what was rescribed to them by the forefathers upon the opening of the the fourth Sangam @ ‘New World’ @ ‘Nusantara’.
Tamil is the oldest, ancient, scientific and mother of all languages. It is embedded within the DNA of each Tamilian from the 1st Sangam and never can it die or will it die. The universal language for Tamilians for the 4th Sangam is Bahasa Melayu and it can be verified that most of the words in Bahasa Melayu are of Tamil origin.Apart from that, the universal language of today is English and most of the current global knowledge and breakthroughs are available in English.
If the Tamil people truly use their ‘Paggathu Arivu’ @ ‘Common Sense’ , they should immediately cease fighting for more Tamil schools but request that all existing ones be converted to English medium so that Tamil people are inline with the current global trends.By doing so, it does not only eliminate the Tamil people’s diaspora but also usage of the specific issues by nefarious politicians or parties like the HRP, Hindraf, MIC, IPF, etc. for their own political mileage.
With this cessation, it frees the Tamil people from any bondage to emphasise more on core issues viz their social welfare. This is the reason why since ancient time, Tamil was only taught in the ‘Deiva Allayam’ or the Temple as a special language. There are hundreds of temples build around Malaysia and why can’t the Indians who are championing for the survival of the Tamil language initiate the conducting of Tamil classes within these temple premises in accordance with the Tamilian cultural tradition?
In fact, the Tamilians should be aware that, ”Gurukal means ‘Teacher’ and in ancient times, his employment in a temple is not just for doing poojas but to disburse Tamilian cultural and heritage knowledge to the local Tamil community. So, I am calling upon all my Indian brothers and sisters to shift your paradigm, use your ‘Paggathu Arivu’ and start converting each and every temple in your vicinity as the “Deiva Allayam”. Get to know your own rich Tamil traditions and customs.
Start up the Tamil language, devaram, bharathanatyam, sangeetham, etc. classes. At least if you live in full awareness that each ‘Dachanei’ given to the temple is your selfless charity for the Tamil people’s progress and development.
